Year 7 HASS classes are learning about local Aboriginal culture and history. As part of their learning students viewed a collection of photos, newspaper clippings and stories such as ‘Tucker’ by Ian Abdulla that reflected local Aboriginal history and stimulated discussion. Students made connections between these photos and stories and their own lives.

Daniel Giles took students to Renmark High School’s firepit and talked about connections with fire from an Aboriginal view while Uncle Barney used drumming to evoke emotion and deepen listening.
