School Sport SA Cross Country
During week 5, year 12 student Taj travelled over to Canberra to represent South Australia at the School Sport Australia Cross Country Championships. Approximately 50 students competed over a few days in a variety of races (involving time trials, relay races and a 3km race).

Taj finished 14th with a time of 14:36 in the U13-U19 Multi Class event. It was a tough run on a track that he hasn’t experienced running on before. He enjoyed the challenge as this opportunity allowed him to compete against some of the best runners from South Australia and other states. On reflection, he was satisfied with his performance although he highlighted that he could have put more time and effort into his training and preparation. Taj has been very fortunate over his schooling, as this was the third time he represented the state (due to Covid-19 the event was impacted for two years).  It’s always a special moment when you represent your state in anything, but as this would be the last time for Taj, competing as a student in a school sport.

Well done and congratulations on representing South Australia Taj. You should be proud of your achievements!

Girls Football Clinic
SANFL representatives, Nick Dillon and Kayla Mudge visited us in week 7 to run their girls football clinic. The clinic is aimed at providing fun, safe, inclusive and skilled practical sessions for students to participate at the best of their ability. There were several sessions over the day, where girls participated during their usual PE lesson time. Thank you SANFL for a fun-filled day of football! For more information about the weekend clinics, please see Mr Camplin or refer to the flyers in the newsletter.
Tennis

Over the past few weeks many of our Physical Education classes have been venturing over to the Renmark Tintra Tennis Club to participate in tennis. We are very fortunate to have access to these high quality facilities, while also having some expert coaching from the experienced John Pick. Students have really enjoyed this opportunity, with many showcasing their skill and understanding in the game. Both the Renmark High School staff and Mr Pick have been extremely impressed.

A huge thank you to Mr Pick for his continued support and access to the facilities. If you are interested in playing tennis this summer, please see Mr Camplin for more information.
