String Instrument Study

How long is a piece of string? Better yet how long does a string ring? Well, our year 10 music class are finding this out with a term focusing on string instruments. They have learnt the design and mechanics of how these instruments make their sound and in the coming weeks, will pick up one and learn to play some short instrumental pieces. Our students are keen to play a range of unique string instruments which they have never worked with before including the harp, Latvian kokle, mandolin, and violin. We will check back with our musicians later in the term to see what they’ve learnt.
