Joe Dix Memorial Lecture
We were fortunate to host Cody Milne as our guest speaker at the Joe Dix Memorial Lecture, presented in the Chaffey Theatre in week 8, term 3.
The memorial lecture is held in honour of Joe Dix, an innovator and proprietor of GJ Dix and Sons foundry. He was also an active member of the Rotary Club of Renmark, who sponsor this annual event. The aim of the lecture is to help encourage, motivate and inspire senior students as they transition into their final years of school.
Cody spoke about his time at Renmark High School and how he transitioned to a successful apprentice in Data and Communications, winning the Riverland and Mallee Vocational Awards - Apprentice of the Year in 2016.
Following the lecture, SRC students, staff and community members were invited to an afternoon tea hosted in the foyer of the Chaffey Theatre.
