To start the final term, year 8 students have been developing their skills using hand tools and other machinery to make a wooden boat. The aim of the task is to get students using a variety of tools, following a process, and to saw and chisel out housing joints. The skills developed will be useful for those that continue with Wood Technology throughout the next few years. 

Cody - I really enjoyed using the chisel to make the housing joint. I found it relaxing as you zoned out and focussed on the activity.

Emme - I was nervous at times but once I used the machinery, my confidence increased and I was able to help others.
