School Sport SA Swimming Championships

On Monday 19 February the Renmark High School swimming team travelled to Loxton to compete at Interschool Swimming. We placed a close 2nd overall which was a great achievement especially considering we had a small team. The team achieved much success over the night with many swimmers achieving placings and personal bests. The support and enthusiasm of the Renmark High School swimmers was inspiring with several students filling in at the last minute and swimming up age groups.

The Renmark High School swimming team then travelled to Adelaide on Wednesday 28 February to compete at the School Sport SA Swimming Championships Carnival at the SA Aquatic Centre in Marion. We had another very successful day, finishing 4th out of 10 schools. Again, we took a small team with many swimmers swimming up an age group and in multiple relays. Many personal bests were achieved throughout the day and the team supported each other. A highlight was Sarah White breaking the U13 Girls 50 Freestyle record, swimming a 31.82 which broke a 25 year record set in 1999.

We would like to say a huge thank you Jodi Long, Sophie and Ethan Hoffman and Kayleigh S who came along to assist with time keeping and coaching. Well done to all swimmers on your amazing efforts.

1500m Run

On Tuesday 27 February many students took part in the 1500m run on our school oval. Well done to all students who participated.

Congratulations to everyone involved, and a big thank you to our year 8 helpers (Sophie, Summer, Sarah, Maria and Morgan). The grand final score was 41 - 39, with 7.2 being the overall champions!
