Senior School News
Elevate Education
Elevate Education visited our school last Friday to present a series of workshops to our year 11 students.
The workshops include a session on Time Management and another called Study Sensai. All students thought the sessions were useful and were highly engaged with the speaker. Students have collected some notes which they can refer to as they move through the year. The presenter will return later in the year to present further sessions around exam preparation.
All students were provided with a password to access the Elevate Education website where they will find all kinds of useful information about how to survive senior school including study habits, stress release, exam support, note taking ideas, and typical exam questions.
The school has already advertised some online parent seminars that our school community can access every month or so. We will continue to do this throughout the year. If anybody has accessed these please give us some feedback.
Elevate Education will be hosting a free webinar series on Wednesday 27 March from 6.30pm on memory. Elevate Education works with students, delivering high impact workshops on study skills, motivation, wellbeing, and exam preparation. By tuning into their webinar series you will learn how you can help support your child at home by reinforcing the skills they're learning at school.
They will cover:
-
Understanding how your child's memory works
-
Optimising your child's environment for memorisation
-
3 practical memory techniques to use with your child this term

Studiosity
Studiosity is an online drafting program is proving very popular with senior students. Staff can access the portal, see what kinds of feedback students are receiving, and therefore structure some of the lessons to suit this. Please ask your child if they have used it and get them to show you the results. It allows another draft to be actioned before it is handed into the subject teacher. It also has a live chat option where students can access a mentor at any stage to help solve questions. This could be a Maths problem, Physics equation, or a Chemistry question. The school will continue to support this program by purchasing more time through the year if required.
University Camp
The year 12 university camp is all set for week 11 Wednesday 10 to Friday 12 April. Year 12 students who their interest and parents should have received an EdSmart form with further information and payment terms. If you have not received this, please contact Student Services for more information.
Beyond Tomorrow
There are many presentations and useful activities Renmark High School plans for our students. Students need to attend these whether they are in their Beyond Tomorrow lesson, Supervised Study, or subject lessons.
I look forward to sharing more senior news and student success stories throughout 2024.
