PRINCIPAL'S ADDRESS

SSO week – Thank you

I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the Renmark High School community to thank our ancillary staff for all of the fantastic work that they do.  Our valuable ancillary staff support the school in a multitude of ways in the classroom, administration, library, IT and grounds and without them we couldn't offer the high quality learning environment and opportunities that we do.  Thank you to Sonja Modlinski, Stacey Lambert, Tracey Chapman, Carli Burnnard, Karina Lambert, Melek Demir, Ashlea James, Tara Camilleri, Anthony Rothe, Tom Gregurec, Brett Blackwell, Veronica Crouch, Kerrie Pyers, Kathryn Jenner, Samps Okholm, Patricia Rucioch, Leanne Weigall, Erin Rossack, Joane Smith & Rhett Colls.

Student Learning at RHS

The future direction of student education was presented during the Secondary Schools Principals Conference I went to recently really reinforced the great work of RHS staff.  The theme was Beyond Certainty and reinforced the idea that an important role of schools is to develop the skills in our young people that will enable them to be successful beyond their time at school.  Listening to speakers and participating in the workshops allowed me to reflect on the amazing things that are already happening in our school for students.  I will share some more details in future newsletters however in the meantime I would like to recognise our staff’s fantastic efforts in our school improvement work in General Capabilities, developing metacognition in students, STEM, and digital technologies, I look forward to our continued success developing the learning environment for our students.

Wear it Purple Day this Friday

I am proud of our positive, inclusive culture at Renmark High School, where students and staff are accepting of all young people into our learning community.  As a recognition of all students having the right to be of our community SRC in conjunction with our wellbeing team are supporting Wear it Purple day this Friday.  Wear it Purple Day is an annual LGBTIQA+ awareness day especially for young people, based in Australia. Supporters wear purple to celebrate diversity and young people from the LGBTIQA+ community.  If you have any questions please contact one of our Wellbeing Leaders, Matt Abbott or Kristina Kalstein.
