Renmark High School

Dirt Kart Superstar

Year 9 student, Jack L and his family travel most weekends across South Australia as Jack is an avid dirt kart racer. Jack started in 2018 as an off sport to his beloved football. Jack has since become more professional commencing competition in South Australian and Australian Titles in 2020. During the recent school holidays, Jack made his way to Lucindale to compete in the 2024 Hallett Concrete Australian National Dirt Kart Titles. He competed against 32 junior heavy drivers from across Australia.
On day 2 Jack was unable to finish his 2nd race after he was pushed into a window instantly receiving no points for the round leaving him 21st position. Somehow, over the next 2 days Jack managed to finish a 1st and a 2nd putting him in 5th position leading into the final. Jack had to finish 2nd or better to bring home the Aussie 3 plate. He did it! He finished in 1st place! Jack has ended his junior heavy class on a massive high taking home Australian #3 meaning he will now move up to a much more competitive class, being KT Lights. We congratulate Jack on his success and wish him well with his future racing.
