Join Kat Bell in creating magical mystical creatures. Students will learn the basics of character drawing for 2D animation, as they draw their own mystical creatures. They will also view a brief demonstration of Augmented Reality and see how their 2D creature could be made into animations for Augmented Reality. To get the most out of the session, student numbers will be limited to 12 students per workshop. These workshops are on offer to Riverland schools only. Orphic Phantasmagoria Exhibition
On display 13 November to 15 December 2024
Let the magic unfold before your eyes, in this exhibition by Aboriginal artist and writer, Kat Bell and Renmark North School students. A showcase of over 100 Augmented Reality artworks are on display as part of this new media exhibition. Created as part of the school’s Aboriginal Perspectives learning journey, students have drawn mystical creatures inspired by the many dreaming stories and Kat’s Womechibat AR book (a work in progress), shared in class. These drawings have then been animated and augmented by Kat to bring them to life, creating exciting, quirky, fun and magical experiences for viewers. Kat is also presenting a series of her own paintings, street scenes from her dreams, and memories, which have also been animated and augmented. This is possibly one of the largest numbers of animated, augmented artworks to be on show in one single exhibition.
