Jasmine has been awarded the National French Teacher Award of Excellence in Perth at the National French Teachers' Conference, where she received her award from the French Ambassador, Pierre-André Imbert. Jasmine's contributions to French at a school and state level are extraordinary. Throughout her career, she has had a significant impact on students, colleagues and on the broader French-teaching community in South Australia.
Jasmine is a bundle of energy and a whirlwind of activity. She has led the French program at Renmark High School for 23 years, creating incredible opportunities for students to learn another language and embrace and experience other cultures. Her passion for innovation is evident in her classroom practice, and her enthusiasm and dedication to take students beyond their rural community, and beyond the 260km journey to Adelaide, expanding their world views through trips to France and the francophone world, is amazing.
Jasmine's leadership within the French teaching community is sustained and exceptional. Since becoming president of SAFTA, she has reinvigorated the association by organising high-profile conferences and PD events for colleagues. Her passion and talent have been recognised at a state level through the University of Adelaide's Mentor Teacher of the Year and SAFTA's Excellence in French Teaching Award.
Jasmine was interviewed by SBS French Radio:
