Welcome to Term 2
The shift in seasons is definitely in the air, with cooler mornings and shorter days reminding us that winter is on its way. I hope the break offered everyone a chance to recharge and reconnect.
Welcoming Future Students and Families
Next week, we're looking forward to welcoming our future year 7 students for their first transition visit. This is a special time, and we're commited to making it a positive, inclusive experience. Through transition activities, our future students begin forming connections with each other, our staff, and the learning culture that defines Renmark High School. It's one of many ways we help students feel a sense of belonging as they begin their high school journey.
We also invite our Year 5 and 6 families to join us on Monday 19 May at 7.00pm for our Information Night. This evening is a great opportunity to learn about our programs, meet our leadership team, and tour the school. It's a chance to see how we live our values or Respect, Connect and Achieve every day, in every space.
Parent-Student - Teacher Interviews
Thank you to families who recently attended interviews. These conversations are an important part of supporting student growth, reflecting on successes, identifying areas for improvement, and planning next steps. If you didn't get the chance to meet with teachers, please remember you can still reach out via DAYMAP or by contacting the front office.
Public Education Day - Thursday 22 May
Public Education Day is a chance to recognise the transformative power of our public schools. At Renmark High School, we're proud to be part of a system built on equity, inclusion and opportunity for all. Every day, we see the impact of public education through the achievements of our students, the commitment of our staff, and the strong partnership we build with families and the wider community. I encourage everyone to reflect on what public education has meant in your life and to celebrate the values that unite us.
Reconciliation Week - 27 May to 3 June
This year's National Reconciliation Week theme, Bridging Now to Next, reminds us that reconciliation is not a destination. It is an ongoing journey that connects our past, present and future.
At a time of uncertainty in Australia's reconciliation journey, the theme encourages us to reflect, grow, and keep moving forward together. It invites all Australians to learn from the past and continue building a more unified and respectful future.
At Renmark High School, we are commited to this journey- respecting history, fostering connection, and working toward shared achievement. Reconciliation is lived through our actions, our learning, and our relationships.
To mark the week, we invite students, staff, and families to join us for a Reconciliation Week breakfast around the school Yarning Circle on Friday 30 May from 8.00am to 10.30am. This relaxed and meaningful morning is a chance to connect, share stories, and reflect on the role we all play in creating a more just and inclusive future.
