Interschool Cross Country
On Friday 23 May students travelled to Martins Bend in Berri, where they participated in our Riverland School Sport Interschool Cross-Country event, proudly representing the school. Each student competed in their respective age group races, covering a 3km course. The Under 20 Boys team excelled, finishing first overall and securing the pennant in their age group. Ollie L delivered an outstanding performance, achieving 1st place, while Stephen F closely followed in 2nd place. In the Under 16 Boys category, Noah M ran impressively, securing 1st place. Our school placed 4th overall in the pennant standings, just 0.5 points shy of 3rd place. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated, assisted, and embodied our school values, Respect, Connect, Achieve.
Knockout Cup Volleyball
Our Year 9/10 boys and girls volleyball teams recently showcased exceptional talent and sportsmanship at the School Sport SA Knockout Volleyball Tournament held at The Lights Community and Sports Centre in Lightsview, Adelaide. Competing against schools from across the region, the teams delivered impressive performances.
The boys demonstrated outstanding teamwork and determination, defeating Waikerie High School, St Francis of Assisi College, and Ngutu College. Their only setback came in a closely contested match against Charles Campbell College, where they narrowly lost with scores of 21–25 and 26–28.
The girls went through undefeated winning against Xavier College, St Francis of Assisi College, Kapunda High School, Clare High School and one tightly fought game against Waikerie (1 set all, 9-7 in the 3rd). This displayed great signs in preparation for their end of year trip to the Australian Schools Cup on the Gold Coast.
Throughout the tournament, our teams embodied the school's core values of Respect, Connect, and Achieve. Their unwavering support for one another, combined with strategic play and resilience, was evident in every game. The commitment to excellence and their positive attitude both on and off the court were commendable. Also a big thank you to our injured player Lily S, for demonstrating initiative and responsibility by umpiring the girls matches.
We extend our congratulations to the teams for their remarkable performance and for representing our school with pride. Their achievements not only reflect their hard work and dedication but also set a shining example for their peers.
