Notification of Planned Asbestos Removal Works
Please be advised of upcoming asbestos removal work that is planned to occur at Renmark High School. It is planned that asbestos removal work will be undertaken from Saturday the 7th of December concluding on or prior to Sunday the 8th of December. There will be no access to the site at all on the mentioned dates.
The asbestos removal work will be undertaken by a licensed asbestos removal company, Airflow Asbestos Removal and Demolition Pty. Ltd and Scherers Contractors. Safe Work SA has been notified of the work. An asbestos removal control plan (ARCP) will be developed to ensure that adequate measures are in place to minimise risk and to meet regulatory requirements. Signs and barricades will be in place to delineate the asbestos work area.
The Occupational Hygienist KJ and MJ Services have been engaged by the Department for Education to review the ARCP and undertake assessments of the risk controls in place during the work. This will include monitoring for airborne asbestos fibre around the perimeter of the work area. On conclusion of the work the Occupational Hygienist KJ and MJ Services will perform a clearance inspection and air monitoring to provide a clearance certificate prior to reoccupation of the area.
