YEAR 8 MUSIC
As term 4 begins, our year 8 Music students begin their eight-week journey in playing a musical instrument. For many of the year 8s, it will be the first time they have ever played an instrument. Students were able to choose either a brass, woodwind, or rhythm and percussion instrument to play. The first step to playing an instrument is getting a sound, so our students were learning to buzz on their brass mouthpieces, position their flute to get the perfect pitch, all the while making sure they got their fingers just right to strum their bass guitars. Students are starting to learn chords for ‘We Will Rock You’ and by the end of the term will play not only this popular tune, but two others. Keep an ear out for our budding musicians over the next few weeks.
