PRINCIPAL'S ADDRESS

Welcome Year 6 and 7 students

I would like to extend a warm welcome to year 6 and 7 students and their families.  We are looking forward to having students here for their next, 'Come and Try' transition visits Thursday 19th August. If there is anything we can do to support students and families in transitioning to high school please let us know.

Staff vacancies

We currently have a permanent teaching position advertised to begin in 2022 in Mathematics.  If you are interested in applying (or know someone who may be interested) please go the Department for Education website https://www.decd.sa.gov.au/working-decd/teaching-vacancies.

Our business manager, Karina Lambert, has taken a position at SA Health, so we are also looking for a Business Manager until the end of the year.  Please check out https://jobs.education.sa.gov.au/page.php?pageID=106 or anyone else you know may be interested.

Parent Survey

The annual parent survey is a great opportunity to get valuable insights into parent engagement of students’ learning.  Parents should have been sent an invite directly from the department on Monday 2 August 2021.  We encourage parents and caregivers to complete the opinion survey to help us in identifying our school strengths and where we can focus our improvements.

COVID-19

As we have watched the progression of COVID in the Eastern states recently, it makes you appreciate that we are in a very fortunate state at the moment.  The COVID-19 pandemic can be unpredictable however, and it is important that we remain well prepared.  Thank you to the families and students who persevered with their learning and a huge thankyou to staff for the commitment and effort that they put into students learning both on or off site.

It is important that the school has the most up-to-date contact details (including phone number) for all parents/carers so they can be quickly contacted in the event of a temporary closure or regional closure. We also require students to stay home if they are unwell and if they have symptoms of COVID-19, no matter how mild – please get tested.

Please take some time this week to make sure that students can troubleshoot any issues they had, finding their subject information in DAYMAP, uploading assessments, and accessing Microsoft TEAMS and Learnlink emails.  If students are experiencing any issues with this, please have the students contact their teachers or please contact us on their behalf.

We are really appreciative of our students, families and staff who have been extraordinarily supportive throughout this pandemic to ensure continuity of learning for students, so thank you.
