NATIONAL RECOGNITION
Renmark High School French Students
Felicitations! Congratulations to Renmark High School, who took out first prize in the SAFTA (South Australian French Teachers Association), video making competition promoting the study of French at secondary school.
Their winning entry in the South Australian competition, was then selected as the favourite by the National Federation of French Teachers. (FATFA)
In the competition, open to French students in Years 8-10 across Australia, students needed to script and produce a short promotional ‘tik-tok’ style video demonstrating how they learn French. Focusing on language learning in regional Australia, Renmark students provided their perspective on the best ways to go about acquiring another language for students living in rural Australia.
The competition was held in conjunction with the national ‘Why Learn French?’ day, held on Friday, July 23rd. The winning team, a Year 8 trio comprising of Anja T, Dallas W and Josh V will be acknowledged at a presentation ceremony at St Peter’s College, in Adelaide next term.
