PRINCIPAL'S ADDRESS

Welcome Back

Welcome back, I hope students had a great holiday break to recharge ready for term 4.

Year 7 Transition

We have enjoyed having the year 6 and 7 students visiting our school and participating in some lessons as part of their transition program. It is always exciting to be part of a student’s introduction to school life in their secondary school journey.  These visits are as much about our staff getting to know students as they are getting to know us and our school.  We are looking forward to their next visit in week 7 (for year 7) and week 8 (for year 6) when they return for two whole days of high school.

Staffing

Congratulations to Chris Blanden who has won a middle school position with us from next year, to Lori Sandlands for winning the Alternative Learning leader position for 2022 and to teacher Wayne Elliott who, after 5 years with us, has been converted to an ongoing position at Renmark High School.

We also have Pammy Main finishing with us after 15 years as our Pastoral Care Worker.  We are currently working on a process to have someone placed into the role by next year.

World Teachers' Day

With World Teachers' day being celebrated this Friday I would like to take the opportunity to publically recognise the fantastic teachers we have at Renmark High School and their commitment to student outcomes. Teaching is a demanding profession that requires not only in-depth knowledge of subject content but also how to teach it so that each student can experience success. Our teachers are highly committed and use their many varied skills such as patience, leadership, creativity, innovation, organisation, preparation to name just a few. So on behalf of the Renmark High School thank you teachers, your efforts are appreciated!

Face Masks

From Monday, wearing face masks is optional for all students and staff while on school grounds. The Department for Education has made this decision with the backing of SA Health.

Please remember that while masks are no longer required, they may be again in the future. If so, we will let you know. Thank you to all parents and students for supporting mask wearing in our school over the last couple of months.

Contact Details

Please make sure your contact details are up to date with the school.  We do need these details in the case of emergency or to keep you informed (e.g. in the case of a lockdown).
