RIVERLAND YOUTH THEATRE VISIT
RYT Drama Excursion
On Wednesday 15/9 our Year 9 Drama class went to RYT and met with their new artistic director Fleur to do a workshop about Tim Burton, as this is who we are learning about in class.
Our class played some games with Fleur and Mrs Matulic to warm up our voice and body. We played warm-up running and team work games, made sounds with and played a ball game. Some of the games were confusing and hard but they got easier towards the end.
With one item of clothing we also used movement, acting and dance to make characters by looking at moods, tension and a person’s surroundings. I wore a peach dress and straw hat for my character.
Fleur sat down with us and we talked about what we knew about Tim Burton, about the movies he directed, his theme of an outcast, his style and how we would put this information into our set designs.
I really enjoyed the time we spent at RYT with Fleur. I learnt a lot and hope to go again next term.
