YEAR 9 SALE DAY
In year 9 HASS and English students studied a unit on Economics and Marketing. The aim of the unit is to build a business, develop a product and money management. The theme for this year was 'travel made easy'. Each business came up with a company name, developed a logo, made a commercial advertising their product and designed a trade display. Students also tracked the flow of money going in and out of their personal budget on a regular basis.
On Sale Day students pitched their product to the entire year 9 group and to invited guests who were buyers. Trade displays consisted of the product, brochures, pamphlets and business cards. Each company had to be mindful of their money management in order to make a profit during their exchange. A company report was written outlining the business decisions and outcomes.
