To conclude an exhilarating unit on Laws and Active Citizenship, 8.1 participated in a ‘Mock Court’ scenario. The accused on trial? Goldilocks and the Three Bears! Students were allocated roles that would be embodied in a real-life court room situation: a judge, the jury, witnesses, the plaintiff, and the defendant. The class acted out the trial, debating who was at fault through listening to statements and interpreting evidence. The jury returned a ‘guilty’ verdict stating that Goldilocks was rightfully accused of trespassing, breaking and entering, and destruction of property.
