- Update your student's information
As we come to the end of the term 4, I would like to thank parents and caregivers for their support with our annual Presentation Night and Prom. These celebratons are an outstanding display of what our wonderful students can achieve throughout the years of their schooling. This could not be done without the hard work and support of families, teachers, school support staff and the wider Renmark community. We are extremely proud of Renmark High School's young adults and look forward to hearing about their success as they make their way into the wider world.
House Points
Last Friday we announced the inaugural winning house for achieving the most points in term 4. Students are awarded points for displaying our new school values of Respect, Connect, Achieve in their work and behaviour throughout the term. Over this term, staff have been adding house points to any student they felt has made a difference within the school. The final results were as follows:
Chaffey - 401
Sturt - 395
Murray - 395
Tintra - 345
As you can see it was a very close contest!
All winning Chaffey students enjoyed a Zooper Dooper after the winning team was announced. We will continue to improve this process and aim to communicate with parents about their child’s input next year.
Year 12 SACE Results
SACE results will be released on Monday 18 December.
It is important that students can access their Students Online portal. They have been shown how to do this but may want to check they can still access it before this day. To access the SACE Board of SA Students Online portal, please follow the link:
https://apps.sace.sa.edu.au/students-online/login.do
Students can change their SATAC University course preferences up until the 3 January with the main round offer occurring on the 11 January with subsequent offers after that. Any support from parents and caregivers in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
SA Volleyball Competition
Finally, I would like to wish Renmark High School Volleyball team all the best this week at the SA Volleyball Smash event held in Adelaide. This year students have been training, competing in Monday night volleyball and planning for the annual event. As you can imagine, our students are excited for the big week ahead! Stay tuned for results on our Facebook page throughout the week.
I hope you all have a great Christmas and New Year holiday break. We look forward to seeing everyone in 2024.
Kind regards,
Marina Pater

Ms Riar's year 7 Food Technology class concluded their semester by applying the knowledge and food preparation skills learnt during terms 3 and 4. They prepared a two course meal of spaghetti bolognese with fresh garden salad and garlic bread as sides followed by upside down pudding with ice cream for dessert. Students worked collaboratively and sustainably during the lesson to prepare and present the meal on time. They thoroughly enjoyed this meal with all the food devoured in no time.

Cupcake Decorating
The Year 9 Food Technology class concluded the semester with a unit on cake decoration. Students were tasked to choose from a range of themes including child's birthday, death by chocolate, sweet and simple, afternoon tea, adult's birthday, monster party, etc. to make and decorate cupcakes. Students developed skills in cake making, piping, working with fondant and chocolate. They engaged well with the task to design and produce very creative end products.

Introduction to Outdoor Education
In week 7, year 9 students ventured outdoors to complete a bush walk as part of the year 9 Health and PE curriculum 'Finding a way'.
Students got a taste of Outdoor Education, by completing a bush walk around Paringa Paddock. Students also had the opportunity to cook using the trangias.
We thank Daniel Giles for coming along and giving a First Nations perspective about looking after country and for doing a smoking ceremony at the end of our walk.

Physical Education Teacher

Last week, the year 10 Outdoor Adventure PE class ventured down to the Murray River with their canoes and paddled along the scenic areas of Renmark. How lucky are we to have this only a short distance from our school!
